Basecamp Masai Mara is located along the Talek river a tropical forest, bordering the Maasai Mara National Reserve, home to the highest density of wildlife including the big five and the 7th Natural wonder of the world- The wildebeest migration. The camps position and location allow guests to easily explore the wildlife-rich reserve. The camp is approximately 255 km from Nairobi which is about a 5hrs drive and 45min flight from Wilson Airport, Nairobi landing at Mara Olkiombo airstrip followed by a short transfer to Base camp Masai mara.
The camp offers 17 double riverside tents and 2 family tents, all built along the banks of the Telek River, the natural border to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. The dense riverbed foliage allows for maximum privacy and comfort without compromising the view of the Masai Mara National Reserve. Each double tent offers;

The family tent has two separate wings, each featuring a double bed with a shared bathroom area.
Basecamp has a restaurant which is located right to the Talek River with amazing views over the savannah and the river, the restaurant serves local and international cuisine giing guests options. The camp also offers a kids club called the Dorobo club where children learn local crafts and get to engage in nature with butterfly catching activities.
