Your safari starts with an early morning pick up from your Nairobi hotel or residence at 6:30 AM. After a short safari briefing by your driver guide, you will begin the 5 hour drive through central Kenya’s scenic countryside to Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Upon arrival, check-in at Serena Sweetwaters Camp and enjoy a lunch while taking in views of the surrounding landscape, which includes the camp’s riverine areas and natural watering holes where wildlife frequently gathers.

In the afternoon, depart for your first game drive inside Ol Pejeta Conservancy. This initial drive introduces you to the conservancy’s diverse wildlife, including elephants, lions, buffalos, zebras, giraffes, and rhinos. The conservancy is also home to rare species, such as the black rhino, making this game drive particularly special. Return to the camp in the evening for sundowner drinks, followed by dinner and overnight in your luxury tent.

After an early morning breakfast, set out for a morning game drive, exploring Ol Pejeta’s open plains and riverine forests. Look out for elephants and lions as they are most active during the cooler hours.

Later in the morning, visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, home to rescued chimpanzees from across Africa. The sanctuary provides a unique opportunity to observe these primates up close in a safe and controlled environment. Following this, proceed to the Rhino Sanctuary, where you can see Ol Pejeta’s world-famous black and white rhinos and learn about ongoing conservation efforts.

Return to the camp for lunch and a short rest before embarking on the afternoon game drive, covering areas you may not have visited earlier.

In the evening, experience a night game drive from 9:00 PM to 11:00 PM, a unique opportunity to observe nocturnal wildlife. During this drive, you may spot predators such as leopards, hyenas, and bush babies, as well as other nocturnal animals like porcupines, civets, and owls. The conservancy is particularly rewarding at night due to its open landscapes and minimal light pollution, offering a thrilling and intimate safari experience.

Return to Serena Sweetwaters Camp for dinner and overnight.
