Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve

Depart Nairobi early in the morning, traveling north through central Kenya toward Samburu. The landscape gradually changes from cultivated highlands to semi-arid terrain as you pass Nanyuki and Isiolo, signaling entry into northern Kenya. Arrive at Ashnil Samburu Luxury Camp in time for check-in and lunch. The camp’s riverside location allows you to observe wildlife movements directly from the lounge and dining areas. After a short rest, head out for your first afternoon game drive in Samburu National Reserve. The Ewaso Nyiro River is often active with elephants, giraffes, and birdlife, while predators are frequently seen using the riverine cover. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Samburu National Reserve

After an early breakfast, depart for a morning game drive when wildlife activity is at its peak. Samburu is especially known for the Samburu Special Five—Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk—species well adapted to this dry ecosystem. Return to camp for lunch and leisure time. You may relax by the pool, enjoy views of the river, or simply unwind in the shaded lounge areas as animals pass nearby. In the late afternoon, head out for another game drive, exploring different sections of the reserve and following predator movements as temperatures cool. Dinner and overnight at the camp.

Day 3: Samburu National Reserve

Enjoy an early breakfast before departing for a morning game drive, focusing on wildlife corridors along the river and open plains where big cats are often spotted. Return to camp for lunch, followed by a relaxed afternoon. This slower pace allows you to fully appreciate the camp’s location and the natural rhythm of Samburu. Later in the afternoon, embark on your final game drive, offering an opportunity to revisit favorite sightings or search for species not yet encountered. Return to camp for your last evening in Samburu, with dinner served under the stars.
