4 Days Basecamp Masai Mara Safari Overview

Explore the wild side of Kenya this 2026 with our thrilling 4-day Safari adventure in the famous Masai Mara National Reserve with a stay at the luxurious Basecamp Masai Mara. Basecamp is situated at the Talek river bank, just right at the Talek Gate of Masai Mara National Reserve, offering a serene retreat as it blends comfort with the raw beauty of the African Bush.

This safari offers a scenic drive in a 4x4 safari vehicle from Nairobi to the Masai Mara, driving along the flow of the Great Rift Valley escarpment and into the intimate eco-friendly tented camp in the Masai Mara. Enjoy intimate game drives, Cultural tours, Nature walks, Tales under the glittering skies, wildlife tracking, including spotting the big five, or get to experience the annual great migration, aka Wildebeest migration, that takes Place from July to October each year.

Basecamp Masai Mara Detailed Wise Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer and Arrival at Masai Mara Basecamp

Your safari begins with an early morning pick up(6:30 AM-7:00 AM) by a driver guide at your Hotel/residence or Airport. After a short safari briefing, kick-start your journey by road in a 4x4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof, driving along the flow of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Have a brief stopover at the viewpoint for an up-close scenic view of the escarpment and take photos, then proceed to the Masai Mara. Arrive at Basecamp Mara in time for lunch, check in, and relax. At around 3:30 PM, you will head out for your first game drive, giving you a chance to witness the Mara wildlife and the vast savannah ecosystem dotted with thousands of wildlife. You will see the large herds of wildebeests, the big fives, and other wildanimals. In the late evening, around 6:30 PM, you will head back to your camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2&3; Full Day Masai Mara Reserve Exploration

During this day, you will spend the full day at the camp. Your day is flexible, meaning you can arrange with your driver guide for either a full day game drive safari exploring the park fully, starting your game safari after breakfast. You will leave camp with a packed lunch, which will be served at a picnic site in the park. Also, you can opt for a morning and afternoon game drive, “The best time to witness predators in action hunting down their prey”. At around 6:00 PM, return to your camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Check Out and Home Departure

Being your last day, start off the day with a relaxed breakfast, which will be followed by check-out. Leave camp for Nairobi, exiting the park around mid-morning. Arrive in Nairobi late in the afternoon, followed by a drop off at the Airport, Your Hotel or address.
