If you are staying in Nakuru town or its surrounding areas and would like to experience an authentic Kenya safari without traveling long distances, our Lake Nakuru National Park half-day and full-day game drives offer the perfect solution.
Lake Nakuru National Park is located just a short drive from Nakuru town and is one of Kenya’s most accessible and wildlife-rich parks. Famous for its rhino sanctuary, Rothschild’s giraffes, scenic viewpoints, and diverse birdlife, the park offers excellent wildlife viewing even within a few hours.
We provide private safari vehicles and professional driver-guides, allowing you to explore the park comfortably and safely. Meals during the safari are the guest’s own arrangement.
Our half-day game drive is ideal for travelers who are short on time but still want a rewarding wildlife experience. Because Lake Nakuru is compact and fenced, wildlife sightings are often concentrated, making shorter safaris very productive.
We offer two half-day departure options:
06:00 AM – 12:00 PM
The early morning hours are the best time for wildlife activity. Predators such as lions are often still active, and temperatures are cooler, making animals more visible in open areas. if you prefer this option, your professional driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel or residence in Nakuru at 6:00 AM.
After a short drive to the park gate, your guide will assist with park entry formalities before beginning your game drive.
As the sun rises over the Rift Valley landscape, you will explore the park’s diverse habitats, including acacia woodlands, open grasslands, and the lakeshore ecosystem. During your morning safari, you have high chances of spotting black and white rhinos, which Lake Nakuru is famous for as a protected rhino sanctuary.
During your morning game drive, you can expect to see:
Black and white rhinos
Buffalo herds
Rothschild’s giraffes
Zebras and antelopes
Flamingos and pelicans along the lakeshore (season dependent)
Scenic views from Baboon Cliff or Lion Hill
You will exit the park at approximately 12:00 PM.
12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Your driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel or residence in Nakuru at 12:00 PM. You will then proceed to Lake Nakuru National Park and complete entry formalities before starting your afternoon game drive.
Afternoon safaris offer relaxed wildlife viewing and excellent lighting for photography. Animals often gather near water sources as the day progresses
This option is ideal for:
Guests arriving in Nakuru in the morning
Business travelers with limited time
Families looking for a shorter safari experience
The safari concludes at approximately 5:00 PM.
For guests who prefer a more immersive experience, the full-day safari offers extended time to explore the park thoroughly.
Your driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel or residence in Nakuru at 6:00 AM and transfer you to Lake Nakuru National Park.
After completing park entry formalities, you will begin an extensive game drive covering multiple ecosystems within the park. The full-day option allows you to explore both the northern and southern sections, increasing your chances of spotting elusive wildlife such as leopards and hyenas.
Full-Day Schedule: 06:00 AM – 5:00 PM
This extended game drive allows you to explore different sections of the park at a relaxed pace. You will have ample time to:
Track rhinos across multiple areas
Search for lions in acacia woodlands

Visit major viewpoints
Observe a wide variety of bird species
A full-day safari increases your chances of spotting elusive species such as leopards and hyenas.
