When you are visiting Kenya for a holiday from India, one of the places you would consider visiting is the Masai Mara. We recommend the Masai Mara for Indian guests due to the abundance of wildlife, especially the big cats. Most of our clients from India who visit Masai mara as their first destination after arriving in Kenya often report having experienced most of the wildlife they expected after visitingthe Maasai Mara. However, this is only one of the wildlife safari destinations in Kenya.
For an Indian visitor to Kenya looking for the Masai Mara, Olanka Safaris offers personalized services customized for our guests. These include lodges with Indian cuisines, Indian themed restaurants, and Indian meal choices. We customize our trips to suit our guests' requests as much as possible to ensure you have a comfortable, safe, and memorable experience during your stay in Kenya.
Before visiting the Masai Mara from India, we recommend booking your tour in advance. This is because the lodges in the Masai Mara have limited availability, and guests can miss their best lodge if they book late, especially during high season. At Olanka Safaris, we allow our clients to start paying early and complete their booking payment in milestones before the guest's arrival. We offer all-inclusive tours for Indian travelers in Kenya, but you can book your return flights from India. When planning for your visit to Kenya from India, you will need to apply for an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) to be allowed to enter the country. You will need to have your Indian passport and your return tickets, as well as your travel itinerary.
A trip to the Masai Mara from India starts with your flight to Kenya. There are direct flights from India to Kenya, taking 7-8 hours. After arriving in Kenya, you will be welcomed by our guide at the airport, who will transfer you to your hotel. We normally do private transfers at the airport. If your flight is scheduled to arrive early in the morning, we can customize your itinerary so that you are transferred to the Maasai Mara on the same day you arrive. If you are spending your first night in Nairobi, our guide will pick you up the following morning for a transfer to the Masai Mara. The transfer takes 5 hours by road using a Land Cruiser. Flights to Masai Mara are also available but mainly scheduled for morning and evening hours. When you arrive in the Masai Mara, you will check into your booked hotel, freshen up, and head out on an afternoon game drive. This is the start of your wildlife adventure in the Masai Mara. A 3-4 night stay in Maasai Mara is recommended, but it depends on client preferences, budget, and season. During high season, when there is wildebeest migration- which usually happens between July and September- guests book for more nights to experience the thrill of river crossing at the Mara River.
After you stay in the Maasai Mara, guests are transferred back to Nairobi. Depending on your travel itinerary, you can be dropped off at the airport to catch your flight back to India, or you can travel to the other destinations like Amboseli, Samburu, and Diani. Olanka Safaris offers both short-stay and longer stays safari in Kenya.
Having been awarded in the category of the best travel agency in the tourism excellence awards by the Tourism Regulatory Authority in Kenya, Olanka Safaris takes pride in delivering authentic wildlife adventures to all our guests. Our guides are licensed, trained, and ready to take you through the Kenyan wilderness at all times. We offer both midrange and luxury safaris in Kenya inbound travelers.
