Encounter Mara Camp is a traditional-style- luxury safari camp situated on the banks of the Olmorijo River in the private Naboisho conservancy, northeast of the Maasai Mara National Reserve. The camp is situated on the edge of the savannah under the shade of acacia trees. The camp is located 260km from Nairobi, driving time taking about 5 hours and 1 hour by air from Wilson Airport. Mara river is 40km away from camp while Mar Ole Sieki’s airstrip is 45-minutes’ drive away.
There are 10 specious and comfortable tents (Including 1 family tent and 2 triples), all with en suite bathrooms with double vanity basins, flushing toilets, hot water bucket showers, complimentary laundry service. All tents have battery-charging facilities, seating areas and an in-room lockable box, closet, desk. Hammock, lounger and private verandah where guests can watch zebras amble the nearby saltlick or spot a cheetah prowling the plains.
The camps facilities are powered by Solar and generator power. Meals are served in the dining tent as well as outside in the fresh air whenever the weather allows. Picnic-style breakfasts are served out in the bush while sun-downers and snacks are served as the sunset lights up the sky’s. The camp is designed to be open as possible so as to allow guests to take in the sights and sounds of the Mara during meals or afternoon siestas.
