Watamu is a small town located approximately 105km north of Mombasa and about 15km South of Malindi on the Indian Ocean. The town is part of kilifi county and its major economic activity is Tourism and Fishing. Watamu is known for its white sandy beaches, off shore coral formations which are arranged in different bays and beaches; Garoda Beach, Turtle bay, Blue lagoon, Watamu bay, ocean breeze, Kanani reef and Jacaranda beach.
A marine park is also present, The Watamu Marine National Park which is considered the best Snorkeling and diving areas. Watamu is home to Bajuni people and various tribes from the inland Kenya.
