Abardare National Park is a protected area in the Aberdare Mountain Range in central Kenya, located east of the East African rift Valley, approximately 100 km from Nairobi with the nearest town being Nyeri. The park has a wide range of Landscapes, Mountain peaks rising up to 4000meters, V-shaped valleys intersected by streams, rivers, and waterfalls comprise of the Chania waterfall, Magura waterfall and Queens caves, Gura waterfall, Karuru waterfall, Thomsons or Nyahururu waterfall, Kereita cave and waterfall, Chasing waterfall.
Moorlands, bamboo forests, and rain forests are found at lower elevations. Protected wildlife present at the park include; Lions, leopard, elephants, East african wild dogg, giant forest hog, Waterbuck, cape buffalo, suni, side striped jackal, elund, duicker, olive baboon, bushbuck, mountain reebuck, olive baboons and many bird species.
