Julia’s River Camp is a tented safari accommodation located along the banks of the Talek River offering spectacular views of the river and abundance of wildlife viewing in the midst of the endless Masai Mara’s savannah. The camp is situated 8km from Talek gate, within the Masai Mara National reserve. The camp can be reached either by road or by air. It is estimated to be 280km from Nairobi to Masai which takes approximately 5-6 hours by road while flying time takes about 45min.
All tents in the camp are pitched along the banks of the Talek river just a few feet from the river, sitting on own elevated wooden platform, offering privileged views. With a total of 28 tents, there is 3 separate camps to choose from; Hippo camp (Classic Tent) With 12 dome tents this is the most economical budget option fitted with Mosquito nets, Comfortable beds with fine cotton sheets, and duvets. All hippo tents have a bedside table, solar-powered lighting, private en-suite bathrooms with hot running water 24hours a day. Buffalo Camp (Classic Superior Tent) comprising of 12 large savannah tents with fine cotton sheets, bedside table and private en-suite bathrooms with hot running water. VIP camp with four extra-large savannah tents ideal setting for honeymooners and private groups.
Guests can enjoy themselves at the on-site restaurant with special diet menus available on request. The property also offers packed lunches. There are three different communal mess tents where guests can relax and enjoy drinks after a long day of Safari.
