Olgatuni Camp Mara is a tented safari accommodation located at the heart of Masai Mara near Olkiombo Airstrip. The term ‘Olgatuni’ is a Maasai word for “Lions”. The camp is situated a stone throw distance from where two lion pride territories preside. Masai Mara is 6-7 hours’ drive from Nairobi. Flights from Nairobi take an approximately 45minutes landing at the nearest airstrip, Olkiambo airstrip which is 10 minutes’ drive away from the camp. Talek gate is 300minutes drive away and Sekenani gate is 90min drive around.
The camp has 10 twin-sharing tents and 4 family tents available. The twin- sharing tents come with one large queen size bed and one single bed accommodating up to 3 people. The family tents come with three beds and are good for 3 to 4 people. The tents are fully and tastefully furnished with plush beds, fresh towels, slippers, shower cubicles with earthen designs, hot shower and each tent has a zip enclosure that operates from the inside as well as outside.
Cuisine is predominantly international with continental dishes like Steak, Pasta, and Grilled, and BBQ meats forming a good port of the dishes. There is also a separate kitchen preparing Indian and international vegetarian dishes. Meals can be served served out in the open upon request so guests can get to enjoy the fresh breath of air and gentle sunlit surroundings. There are Maasai guards at all times to ensure guests safety and a secure environment.
