Spekes Camp Masai Mara is a luxury traditional camp situated on a private land on the eastern edge of the Masai Mara Reserve, approximately a kilometer from the reserve. The camp is set on the Olaro Orok River, bordered by Mara North Conservancy and Orok Conservancy. The camp is 250km from Nairobi and can be reached either by road or air. By road it takes approximately 5-6 hours while flying time is estimated to be 45 minutes from Wilson Airport landing at Musiara airstrip which is 25minutes away from the camp.
With only 7 safari tents, the camp is intimate and personable with all tents very spacious, with a closet, luggage rack, desk and a beautiful sitting area. There are 2 large tents which are perfect for family and group of friends. All tents are en-suite, with large bathrooms fitted with traditional safari bucket showers, hot water, and flushing toilets.
The camps mess are comprising a large communal dinning table and lounge area with relaxed place for guests to read and play games. There is a ‘chill-out lounge’ tent that overlooks the river and is perfect to enjoy the serenity and peace of this enchanting spot. Meals are served in the shades of ancient trees overlooking the Mara wilderness or under the sky. There is a great little bar where guests can grab a cool drink at the end of the day, sit around the campfire and share stories.
