Tor’s Camp Masai Mara is a camp ground located south of the Maasai Mara National Reserve’s northern border, about a thirty- minute drive from Talek Gate. The camp is situated inside the Maasai Mara National Reserve inside the riverine forest of Orok River. The camp offers glamping tents for those who want to do a Maasai Mara Safari on a budget if they have limited equipment’s. The camp can be accessed by Road from Nairobi which is 250 km away, it takes around 5-6 hours by road. On the other hand, guests can fly from Nairobi, Wilson Airport to Masai Mara which takes around 45 minutes followed by a short transfer to the camp.
The camp offers two accommodation options; Glamping tents and Campsites. 2 Glamping tents are fully-furnished, self-catered tents offering an easier, private way to do camping (Each tent fitting up to two persons). The campsite can accommodate up to 14 people in an adventurous, cheap and exciting way. The campsite provides the do-it-yourself excitement whilst giving campers access to hot water showers, charging points and a few other things to make it easier.
The camp offers guest a customized camping experience where guests rent some add-on extras. The camp has a share self-service kitchen complete with kitchen countertops and a gas stove. The glamping area en suite bathrooms come with everything a guest would expect in an everyday hotel room but with a bush twist. Guest who camp at the campsite have their own BBQ, Mini-mess tents structure, low-lying coffee table and a pair of kerosene lamps. Guests have access to hot shower, electricity for charging phones, cameras and other devices. The camp offers self-service camping, meaning they have add-on amenities.
