The Safari to Samburu National Reserve is a thrilling and memorable experience, offering a chance to explore the unique wildlife and landscape of the region. The reserve is located in northern Kenya and is known for its distinct ecosystem with a variety of wildlife not commonly found in other parts of the country, i.e., Grevy’s zebra, Reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, endangered wild dogs, and pancake ostrich. Samburu National Reserve also offers the Samburu people, who have a diverse culture, and over 350 bird species.
Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu
Pick up by our driver-guide from your hotel, Airport, or residence. Head out in a 4x4 Land Cruiser/Tour van over Kenya’s central highlands, enjoying views of local coffee, tea, sisal, and pineapple farms. Stop over at the Equator. Arrive in Samburu in time for lunch. Relax after lunch and then have your first game drive exploring the reserve. Return to the lodge at sunset—dinner and overnight at your camp/lodge.
Day 2: Samburu National Reserve (Full Day)
Start your day with an early morning game drive in search of Lions, leopards, Cheetahs, and other wildlife animals that will show up in the dawning light. Return to your camp/lodge for breakfast. The rest of the day is for relaxation, getting to use the camps/lodge facility, or perhaps book additional activities such as a nature walk or cultural visit within the area (Extra Activities at extra cost). An afternoon game drive is scheduled, giving you the opportunity to explore the reserve, visit different attractions, and spot wildlife. Dinner and overnight at your camp/lodge.
Day 3: Samburu – Nairobi
Have a final early morning game drive, allowing you to add more wildlife sightings to your checklist. Return to the camp/lodge for a relaxed breakfast followed by an onward departure back to Nairobi with an en route game drive. Arrive in Nairobi by early afternoon. Drop off at your hotel/ airport or residence.
